A Conwy Treasure: Gorjys Secrets

19 10 2017

On Friday, as the sun set more quickly than we’d anticipated, Arthur, Nicola and I arranged QR codes around the festival website.

And the following day, as I drove in to deliver some workshops under a canopy of trees, the poems began to arrive.   Part poems – little snatches of verse taken from the 14 seasonal poems placed around the site; to full poems, entire sonnets and ballads created by extracting favourite lines or preferred words from longer examples.

Together with the Colwyn Bay Writers, and a guest appearance by Martin Daws, a sunscarce Saturday was lit by groups of children and families writing and reading their own poems to a tantalised audience.
